Bright Lights Coney Island

So here are a couple of the final images from my shoot in Coney Island with DL. I loved being able to play with the bright colored lights. It was fun and I can't wait to go back and shoot again. DL did a great job in front of the camera & we had a nice chemistry. I hope that we get to work together in the future.

Being in Coney Island really gets some creative juices going, so when I return, it should be a fun time with lots of images to choose from....now I just need the model....any volunteers?

Coney Island

Anyone who has worked with me knows that I can't wait more than 24 hours to get at least one image posted up! Today is no exception. I had a shoot today with Dashawn Wade a.k.a. DL. I have been wanting to shoot at Coney Island since before I moved to NYC, so I threw out the idea and DL was more than excited to do it. We tried to get out there before the sun set and caught it right as it went down. This is one of the images we got. This image is straight out of the camera. The only thing I did was minor retouch and my logo. Not bad! I will have more up from the shoot in the next couple of days.

The talented Stephanie Allen Klasse was in NYC for a couple of days, so we decided to get together and do a shoot for old times' sake. Stephanie and I worked together back in Denver and had a lot of fun and we came out of the shoot with some great images. Today was no different. We shot with my roomie Caitlin on the rooftop of our apartment. This is my second time shooting on our rooftop. I think I like it on top of buildings :) Anyway, let me know what you think!

Last night KT and I decided to venture out onto the streets of NYC to find some cool lights to shoot with. We decided to stay in our neighborhood to see what we could find and I think we got some fun shots. First I was shooting with my favorite and most reliable lens , my 50mm. We got this lovely shot.

Then I wanted to play with my new lensbaby that I got for my bday. I am not gonna lie....I LOVE the lens, but it is hard to focus when you are shooting people at night. But I kind of like the fact that nothing is really in focus. I am definitely going to play with it more and see what I get.

So I learned today that I could sneak onto my rooftop :). The views are pretty good up there. You can't really see the view from any of these images because it was super windy by the edge of our building, but I will be back, when it's a little calmer weather! The sun was being difficult at first, but it did stay around long enough to get this image.

After that shot, we changed it up a bit and shot in front of this wall....for some reason, I loved this simple wall....but it is the simple things in life that get us, right?The model was Robert. He had great energy and was fun to work with. This was our first time working, but I am thinking it won't be the last....stay tuned for more in the future!

spring time!

All this rain and beautiful spring weather has me thinking of, well spring! I love this season. Everyone comes out of the house after being inside all winter long and everything is starting to bloom. New growth!

It made me think of an old shoot I did with a fantastic model and friend back in Denver, CO. Her name is Lindsay and you can find her at Donna Baldwin. We worked with the talented Stephanie Klasse and Tiffany Giovanni for hair and make up. It was a successful shoot. Looking at these images makes me excited for this spring and the shoots that I will be doing. The ideas are a flowin! Stay tuned.

While I was backing up my hard drive with all the images I have taken over the last couple of months, I stumbled across these images of the roomie. When her and I get bored, photoshoots happen. I love when you stumble across things that you forgot you had. It's like Christmas, but you don't have to spend any money....and it's not snowing outside....matter of fact it is late at night and it is still 65 degrees outside! That must mean that spring is here! Anywho....

Here is an image that I kept calling the broken down baby doll. We might revisit this idea soon...
This one doesn't really have a name for it but I did like it.
