rooftop

So I learned today that I could sneak onto my rooftop :). The views are pretty good up there. You can't really see the view from any of these images because it was super windy by the edge of our building, but I will be back, when it's a little calmer weather! The sun was being difficult at first, but it did stay around long enough to get this image.

After that shot, we changed it up a bit and shot in front of this wall....for some reason, I loved this simple wall....but it is the simple things in life that get us, right? The model was Robert. He had great energy and was fun to work with. This was our first time working, but I am thinking it won't be the last....stay tuned for more in the future!

spring time!

All this rain and beautiful spring weather has me thinking of, well spring! I love this season. Everyone comes out of the house after being inside all winter long and everything is starting to bloom. New growth!

It made me think of an old shoot I did with a fantastic model and friend back in Denver, CO. Her name is Lindsay and you can find her at Donna Baldwin. We worked with the talented Stephanie Klasse and Tiffany Giovanni for hair and make up. It was a successful shoot. Looking at these images makes me excited for this spring and the shoots that I will be doing. The ideas are a flowin! Stay tuned.

broken down baby doll

While I was backing up my hard drive with all the images I have taken over the last couple of months, I stumbled across these images of the roomie. When her and I get bored, photoshoots happen. I love when you stumble across things that you forgot you had. It's like Christmas, but you don't have to spend any money....and it's not snowing outside....matter of fact it is late at night and it is still 65 degrees outside! That must mean that spring is here! Anywho....

Here is an image that I kept calling the broken down baby doll. We might revisit this idea soon...
This one doesn't really have a name for it but I did like it.

Hey all!

It has been beautiful here in New York the last few days and I took advantage of that. My friend Taylor lives downtown and needed some headshots, so we decided to do them at his apartment. It has a gorgeous view and some really cool walls and other areas all around the property. We got some really good shots....with the help of my lovely assistant KT. Katie is used to being the model, but she did a great job helping me out. Nice lighting lady!

Here is the finished head shot.

Then a couple of Black and Whites because you know I love them!

This wall was at the front entrance of his building. Such a rad wall. I will be back to do something with it!

And of course, KT and Taylor messing around. It was hard to be serious with these two around.

alex

So yesterday I got to take photos with a friend Alex. Alex is the sister of a good friend back home in Michigan. It's always nice to work with someone you know, especially in a big city where you don't know a lot of people yet.

We just did some simple photos at my apartment. We got a couple inside and then decided to venture out to my fire escape. After shooting outside on my fire escape, ideas started flowing for photo shoots. Needless to say, this isn't the last time you will see my fire escape in photos.

Let me know what you think....and help Alex decide on which ones are her best. Thanks!

my favorite spot

Central Park has fast become a favorite spot for me. I take walks there multiple times a week and will walk around or sit and people watch, which is one of my favorite things to do. Anyway, I snapped these pics a few days ago when Syd was still in town so I just thought I would share them. They aren't the most amazing photos but I like them, hope you do too.

Scenic.
So funny to see boats and a life savor covered in snow.
